A college visit is your best opportunity to evaluate whether a school and program are the right fit for your child.

Before the Visit

Prepare questions in advance. Ask your child what they want to know. Research the program, the school, and the coach.

Questions to Ask the Coach

What is your development philosophy? How do you handle playing time decisions? What has happened to players who graduated from your program?

Questions to Ask Current Players

Do you enjoy playing for this coach? What is the team culture like? Would you make the same choice again? Current players will give you more honest answers than coaches.

The Gut Check

After the visit, ask your child: Can you see yourself here for four years? Does this feel right? Trust their instincts. They will be living this decision, not you.
